- Biography
My background is in social psychology, with special interest in diversity and cultural contexts. I am particularly interested in factors of diversity competency (e.g., cultural intelligence, perspective taking, social responsibility) and cross-cultural differences in the reception of negative feedback.
As a lecturer in the psychology department, my primary goal is to teach students to approach psychology as a science. My courses emphasize using empirical evidence to support theories and students practice interpreting figures, critiquing study design, and applying the evidence to the theory in every class. I enjoy teaching cross-cultural, multicultural, and social psychology, as well as courses in research design & analysis, which give students the tools to interpret and critique empirical studies.
