Ph.D., Georgia State University, 2016
As a part-time lecturer in the department, I currently teach Introduction to Human Sexuality (PSYC 2070). I strive to make my classroom engaging, interesting, and challenging. My hope is that my students will learn the content of the course, learn how to think critically, and develop appreciation and respect for diversity. To accomplish this, I incorporate a variety of assignments and activities, which include discussion, reflection, group work, individual work, and traditional exams.
As a clinical-community psychologist, I am currently completing my Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Residency at the Atlanta VAMC with an emphasis in Health Psychology, Women’s Wellness, and LGBT individuals. My graduate research expertise is in the area of positive youth development, with specific training in program development and evaluation. I am currently working on a program development project at the VA to develop and implement training for hospital staff/providers working with transgender patients.
